Sheraton Hotel Athlone, Emo Court, Ratheniska Wedding – Caroline & Niall

This is another wedding from the Summer gone by. It started in Caroline’s parent’s house near Ratheniska, followed by the wedding ceremony in the nearby church. A lovely country church, filled to overflowing with the guests. Despite the dire weather forecasts, we had nothing but blue skies (at this stage!). Following the ceremony, we had arranged to take some photos at nearby Emo Court House.

Then onto the Sheraton Hotel in Athlone. However, by this time, the forecasts had started to come true. Athlone was suffering from a deluge, with lots of flooded streets and roads. It took more than half an hour to get from the outskirts of Athlone to the hotel – and all outdoor photography was promptly cancelled ! Despite this, everyone arrived safely – and all enjoyed the celebrations throughout the rest of the evening.
