I just started a new blog (not much on there yet) on frankcphoto.ie. The theory is that I’ll post Wedding & Portrait photos here and everything else there. I’m sure there will be some overlap – but I’ll just see how it goes – while trying to post more often anyway. I will also merge in my (now dormant) blog GraphicDublin and maybe even the TrimTown website. Consolidation and simpler update being the name of the game.

Website Update

I released an updated version of my main website today. Not a lot of changes to the structure, but everything has been refreshed a bit, and hopefully the navigation is easier.

I’ll be adding more galleries and photos later, but just wanted to get it up and running for now.

Value vs Price

I came across the following quotation/advice recently. I think it applies to Wedding Photography as much as to anything else. Most importantly, it makes the distinction between value and price.

“It is unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you sometimes lose a little money – that’s all.

When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything. Because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do.

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little, and getting a lot. It can’t be done!

If you buy from the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run. And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better.”
