I arrived at the (rented) house near Strandhill to find a green van outside covered in Aboriginal Art and Australian travel stickers and memorabilia. Inside, the usual “Getting Ready” preparations were in full progress. Laura & John are both from Ireland, but now living and working in Australia. It also transpired that the van actually belongs to Laura’s parents.

Their wedding ceremony was held in St. Patrick’s Church in Strandhill. The couple also wanted to have some photos from the day which included Ben Bulben in the background. Although Ben Bulben is very visible in that part of the country, finding a suitable photo stop was a bit more difficult. Many of the better places would have involved too much of a detour, or were awkward to access in wedding clothes. However, I think we found a pretty good one in the end – thanks to some location scouting by the groom, John.

Following that, we went on to Castle Dargan for the main reception. As it was a very sunny day, we headed out to a ruined castle in the grounds, using golf carts for transport. These were great – but stalled a bit on the hills – as you can see below. Finally, the evening ended with some great dance moves from the couple. I’ve added some extra information to the photos below – I hope you enjoy them.
